Your support and contributions will help keep Baby beaks going. I fund this entirely on my own with no other support than from kind people like yourself. Each donation goes toward food, equipment, expenses and vet bills. Thank you from me and my feathered friends!
Lorraine x 🐣🐥
Hi my name is Lorraine … and I’m also known as ‘The Bird Lady’ from the BBC series ‘Born to be Wild’ by Maramedia. I specialise in hand rearing nestling and fledgling garden birds, also adult birds who are injured and require special ‘one to one’ care. I’ve helped countless wild birds to have a second chance at life with the SSPCA and have started my own bird rescue called ‘Baby Beaks‘
If you find a young or sick bird that you think may need help please call me for advice.
Thank you for caring
Here at Baby Beaks I rescue and rehabilitate garden birds such as sparrows, blue tits, goldfinches, robins, wrens, blackbirds, great tits, chaffinches, bullfinches ..... and pigeons! Unfortunately I cannot take in larger species such as swans or raptors but can advise on what to do.
Whether you’ve found a nestling, fledgling or adult bird that needs help my sole aim is to give these birds a second chance and ultimately release them back into their own environment, back to the wild.
Firstly, does it really need rescued? When fledglings leave the nest they are not experts at flying and will often be found on the ground or in bushes waiting on their parents to come and feed them. This is normal. In most cases the bird is ok and the best thing to do is leave them alone, keep pets indoors and watch from a distance. However if the bird seems fluffed up with its eyes closed, or looks very quiet and subdued then it may not be coping so will need rescued. Also if the bird is bald or has very few feathers it is a nestling and won’t survive on its own.. Please call me!
I run Baby Beaks with no pay and make no profit. I rely on the generosity of kind people to help me continue to help birds in need. Please help by following us on Facebook and contributing to any campaign, raising funds for equipment. You can also help by making a small donation via PayPal or by visiting my Amazon wish list and buying some food and much needed supplies. Every little bit helps and is much appreciated by me and the wee beaks in my care!
